Bayern confirm Kingsley Coman has sustained a muscle injury in his right adductor

Thomas Tuchel was visibly frustrated to lose star winger Kingsley Coman to yet another injury ahead of Bayern Munich’s crucial clash against Arsenal on Wednesday. Coman had to be helped off the pitch in Bayern’s 2-0 win over Koln, marking a major setback for Tuchel’s team. The Frenchman had to withdraw from the action after just 50 minutes, being replaced by Jamal Musiala, which was a worrying sight for Bayern fans. At 27 years old, Coman suffered a muscle injury, and there are concerns that he may miss the rest of the campaign, much to Tuchel’s sorrow.

Speaking after the game, Tuchel expressed to Sky Sports, “The big downside to the whole game is the injury to Kingsley Coman. It makes me very sad because I know how hard he worked and how important he is for us. First Serge Gnabry is out, and now he and Leroy Sane are doubts for Wednesday.”

With Coman ruled out for the game on Wednesday, Bayern’s injury problems widen, particularly in the wide positions. Tuchel explained that Sane and Gnabry are questionable in terms of their availability, leaving Bayern sweating on their fitness. Arsenal is set to visit Munich in the Champions League quarter-final second-leg on Wednesday, with the tie finely balanced after last week’s 2-2 draw.

In addition to their on-field challenges, Bayern’s hopes for silverware this season are also hanging by a thread. Bayern will be closely watching Bayer Leverkusen’s match on Sunday, as a win for Leverkusen would confirm the Champions League as the only remaining chance for Bayern to secure silverware this season. The stakes are high, as a victory against Arsenal would see Bayern progress to a semi-final against either Manchester City or Real Madrid.”
