Xavi, the Barcelona boss, has taken legal action against two journalists for allegedly publishing false information.

Xavi has recently taken legal action against two journalists, Manuel Jabois and Javier Miguel, due to what he perceives as the publication of false information about him. The Barcelona coach has decided to confront the ongoing dissemination of lies about him in the media. After enduring these claims for some time, Xavi has decided to take a stand by filing lawsuits against the aforementioned journalists.

Manuel Jabois, a journalist for ‘El País’, relayed statements by Xavi in which he expressed displeasure at Barcelona being referred to as the ‘jester of Europe’. Following this, Jabois claimed on ‘El Larguero’ that Xavi had criticized him for a report. Despite initially withholding the coach’s name, Jabois eventually disclosed it, alleging that Xavi had communicated with him in a derogatory manner, stating, “It was in private, through messages and in a pretty dirty way. He won everything and thought that because of that he had become untouchable.”

Xavi’s representatives firmly refuted these claims, asserting that he had never directly contacted Jabois. Afterward, Jabois admitted that although there was no direct communication, the information had been relayed through third parties. Xavi, however, maintains that this is untrue, leading to his decision to pursue legal action against Jabois, deeming the claims false and aggravating due to the insinuation of impropriety.

In addition to Jabois, Xavi has also taken legal measures against Javier Miguel, a contributor to various media outlets. Miguel’s report suggested that Xavi had committed a breach of law by compelling members of his staff to place their mobile phones on the table to identify potential sources of leaked information. Xavi categorically denies these allegations, and has issued a deadline for Miguel to rectify the information. Failure to do so will result in the lawsuit proceeding.
