Man Utd has reached an agreement on personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton

Manchester United is facing negotiations with Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite, as they have set a high asking price of £70 million. Despite the significant gap between the valuations of the two clubs, United is optimistic about reaching a compromise. Branthwaite has been targeted as a primary transfer candidate following Raphael Varane’s departure, and Unitedis also considering options for another centre-back, particularly Leny Yoro from Lille.

Moreover, the highly-regarded 18-year-old defender is also drawing interest from Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, and notably, Real Madrid. In the event of his departure from Lille, Branthwaite could potentially become a free agent at the end of the season.

In addition to the pursuit of defensive reinforcements, United’s priorities for this summer include a central midfielder and a striker. Joshua Zirkzee, with a release clause of €40 million (£33.8 million), has caught United’s attention, although they face competition from other clubs including AC Milan, Juventus, and Bayern Munich.

The club is aware of the need to enhance its attacking options, with Zirkzee fitting the desired profile in terms of age and skill set. Furthermore, United is open to offloading players to raise funds, with Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho among those being considered for potential sales. Additionally, the pursuit of a defensive midfielder is on the agenda, with potential departures including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Christian Eriksen, and Donny van de Beek.

Overall, United’s transfer strategy includes targeted acquisitions to strengthen key positions, as they navigate negotiations and assess potential departures to shape their squad for the upcoming season.
