𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘: Dortmund have appointed Nuri Şahin as their new head coach on a deal until 2027

Borussia Dortmund have made a significant decision by appointing Nuri Sahin as the club’s new head coach, following the departure of Edin Terzic. This move comes in the wake of Terzic’s unexpected exit earlier in the week. The Bundesliga giants, who were runners-up in the Champions League after a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at Wembley, have found their new leader in Sahin. Terzic recognized the need for a fresh guiding force to lead the club forward after the disappointing loss at Wembley.

Sahin, a Dortmund legend and former midfielder, faces a considerable task ahead as he steps into his new role. In addition to Terzic, veteran defender Mats Hummels has also departed the club following their fifth-placed finish in the Bundesliga. BVB ended the season 27 points adrift of champions Bayer Leverkusen, highlighting the scale of the challenge facing Sahin and his team.

While Sahin is familiar with the Borussia Dortmund squad, he will face a brief wait before fully stepping into his new position as most players are currently on holiday or with their national teams in preparation for events such as Euro 2024 and Copa America. During this time, the Turkish tactician will commence the process of reshaping the squad, gearing up for a strong title challenge in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
