Red Bull has launched their car for 2024, and Max Verstappen has praised the ‘bold’ and ‘aggressive’ approach to the design of the RB20.

Red Bull’s unveiling of their RB20 at the Milton Keynes factory was a much-anticipated event, with Max Verstappen taking a prominent role in the reveal. The reigning Formula 1 world champions are looking to maintain their dominance into the 2024 season. Verstappen, who secured a third successive drivers’ title in the most dominant season in the sport’s history in 2023, lauded his team’s “bold” and “aggressive” approach in shaping the RB20.

Despite the ongoing investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving team principal Christian Horner, the focus remained firmly on the new challenger. Red Bull’s success in the previous season, winning 21 out of 22 races, makes them clear favorites for the upcoming season under the same regulations. However, the team has continued to push boundaries with the design of the RB20, as revealed at the Milton Keynes factory.

Accompanied by chief technical officer Adrian Newey, the design of the RB20 showcases even more dramatic cuts to its sidepods compared to its predecessor, the RB19. The distinctive livery, featuring Red Bull’s trademark dark blue, yellow, and red colors, remains consistent with the team’s identity in the F1 world.

The 2023 season had seen Red Bull enter a new realm of domination, with the RB19 proving to be the most successful car in the sport’s history in terms of the number and percentage of races won in a season. Only the Singapore GP, won by Ferrari, eluded them in the 22-race campaign, coming remarkably close to achieving an invincible season like McLaren in 1988.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez’s partnership was instrumental in Red Bull’s success, with Verstappen’s record-breaking performances standing out. With 19 of the 21 wins accomplished by Verstappen, including an impressive record of 10 wins in a row, their capabilities were truly showcased. The team’s ability to harness the superiority of its car played a pivotal role in their incredible season, culminating in Verstappen’s third successive title in the 2023 Qatar Sprint.

The ongoing allegations against Christian Horner have cast a shadow over Red Bull’s title defense and their 20th season in the sport. Horner’s denial of the allegations and his reassurance that it’s “business as usual” at Red Bull, despite the independent investigation, emphasized a focus on the team’s objectives and preparations for the upcoming season. As the Formula 1 world eagerly awaits the start of the 2024 season, all eyes are on Red Bull and their formidable RB20 as they aim to continue their reign at the top of the sport.
