Arsenal transfer news: West Ham waiting on Gunners’ lawyers to seal Declan Rice deal with Jurrien Timber arrival imminent

Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are expected to join Arsenal’s squad this summer, which will push their spending beyond £200m. Arsenal is hopeful of including Timber in the squad for their friendly match against FC Nurnberg on Thursday. Additionally, Rice may sign before the squad departs for their US tour on Sunday.

West Ham is prepared to sign the contracts for Declan Rice to join Arsenal.

West Ham United is awaiting approval from Arsenal’s legal team regarding the final wording of the agreement. Once the approval is obtained, West Ham will proceed with signing the deal, enabling Rice to transfer to north London.

Arsenal has expressed optimism about finalizing the signing of Rice before the team departs for their pre-season tour in the USA on Sunday.

The club-record deal for the midfielder will cost £105m. The payment will be made in two parts – an initial payment of £100m and an additional £5m in add-ons.

Arsenal’s upcoming deal will surpass their previous record purchase, Nicolas Pepe from Lille in 2019, which was worth £72m.

Rice’s signing will fall just short of the British transfer record. The current record stands at £106.8m, which was set by Chelsea in January when they paid Benfica for Enzo Fernandez.

Arsenal is expected to confirm the signing of Jurrien Timber. The club hopes to include the defender in their squad for their friendly match against FC Nurnberg on Thursday.

Timber has completed his medical examination in preparation for his £38 million transfer from Ajax. The necessary paperwork is currently being finalized for his long-term contract.

The Gunners have agreed to pay £34m upfront for Timber, with the rest of the fee being comprised of performance-related add-ons.

Timber is being signed primarily as a right-back, a position that Ben White mostly played last season. However, he is also capable of playing as a centre-back. Additionally, Timber has previously caught the attention of Manchester United.
