Exclusive story confirmed: Man United will add Ruud van Nistelrooy and René Hake from Go Ahead Eagles to their new backroom staff

Manchester United are in the process of adding Ruud van Nistelrooy and René Hake from Go Ahead Eagles to their new backroom staff. It has been revealed that Erik ten Hag will sign a new contract in the coming days, an agreement that is 100% confirmed. As part of the negotiations over this new deal, there is a possibility of Ruud van Nistelrooy joining the manager’s coaching staff.

Van Nistelrooy, the former United striker, has been in talks with Burnley, but the prospect of rejoining Ten Hag’s staff at Old Trafford holds particular appeal to him. United and Ten Hag are making good progress towards finalizing the new contract, and the potential return of Van Nistelrooy to Old Trafford remains contingent on this agreement.

The 47-year-old has been patiently waiting for the right opportunity since resigning as PSV Eindhoven coach. It is reported that both parties are optimistic about striking a deal, and discussions have also encompassed topics such as the manager’s input on transfers and the game model.

The potential addition of Van Nistelrooy to the coaching staff leaves questions about the future of Ten Hag’s forward coach Benni McCarthy, who is currently out of contract, as well as other figures such as Darren Fletcher. Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren currently serve as Ten Hag’s principal assistants.

In terms of player recruitment, United are prioritizing the addition of at least one centre-half, a holding midfielder, and a striker this summer. They are expected to trigger the £33.8 million release clause in the contract of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee and have already had a £43 million bid for England defender Jarrad Branthwaite rejected by Everton.
