Emma Raducanu missed out on the Eastbourne International semi-finals after being defeated by Daria Kasatkina

In the Eastbourne International quarter-final, Emma Raducanu was unable to secure a spot in the semi-finals, ultimately falling to a 6-2, 6-2 defeat against Daria Kasatkina. Despite brief moments of brilliance, Raducanu was unable to gain momentum against the powerful performance of Kasatkina. The Russian player claimed a dominant first set and pushed ahead in the second set, ultimately winning the match and advancing to the next round.

Following this defeat, Kasatkina is set to face Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in the semi-finals. Paolini previously defeated another British player, Katie Boulter, marking the end of a challenging day for British tennis at Eastbourne.

Furthermore, the prospect of multiple British players reaching the semi-finals was extinguished, as Harriet Dart also faced a loss to Leylah Fernandez. Additionally, 15-year-old British schoolgirl Hannah Klugman missed out on reaching the main draw for Wimbledon after losing her final qualifying match to the USA’s Alycia Parks.

In the men’s singles, wildcard Billy Harris has the opportunity to make history by becoming the first Briton to reach the final at Eastbourne, following a remarkable comeback victory over Italian world No 49 Flavio Cobolli.

As the tournament progresses, the competition remains intense, and fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming matches and notable performances.
