Chelsea have registered their interest in Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo

Chelsea has expressed a keen interest in 21-year-old centre-back Murillo from Nottingham Forest, reportedly making inquiries through intermediaries about his availability. The club views Murillo as a young player with great potential who aligns with their vision and profile, especially following the appointment of new head coach Enzo Maresca.

Murillo, who was signed from Corinthians for an initial £11.2 million last summer, has quickly made a name for himself, earning the title of Forest’s player of the year after an impressive debut season in the Premier League. This has undoubtedly piqued Chelsea’s interest in securing his services.

However, despite the strong interest, negotiations might face a hurdle, as Murillo is currently valued at around £70 million by the Forest hierarchy. This hefty price tag could pose a challenge for any potential deal.

Additionally, talks of Forest selling defender Moussa Niakhate to Lyon might complicate the situation further. With Forest under pressure to raise funds to comply with financial controls before June 30, the timing of any potential deal remains uncertain.

As the situation unfolds, it will be interesting to see how Chelsea navigates their pursuit of Murillo and whether a deal can be struck between the two clubs in the near future.
